What is it with the woman at the deli counter? She always comes over after I’ve been standing there for a minute or two, trying in vain to make eye contact with an employee, and says, “Are you all set?”<\/p>\n
If I were all set, why would I be standing there in front of the deli counter?<\/p>\n
A close second in annoyingness is when you’re talking to someone on the phone, and they say, “Well, I guess I should let you go.”* Isn’t that like saying, “It’s not you, it’s me” when you break up with someone?<\/p>\n
Maybe next time I’m on the phone with someone and they say “I should let you go,” I should say: “Oh, that’s okay. I still have time to talk. No need to hang up on my account.”<\/p>\n
Oh, and I’d like some prosciutto. While you’re at it.<\/p>\n
